Carmela Ramaglia

Welcome!

I’m so glad we’ve connected! That’s one of the beauties of the Internet – we can connect with people whom we might not have otherwise met. We can share information and build communities is ways that have not been possible before.

However, this fabulous technology is not without its issues – especially in an industry that is considered “spammy.” So please know that if you ever reach out to me and don’t receive a timely response, there was a hiccup in cyberspace. The contact form below will go directly to my personal email account and you can always call the office at 425-891-1182.

If you’re looking for a professional bio, you can find one in the Press Kit. This page is for the fun stuff.

First off, my last name (Ramaglia) isn’t as scary as it looks. It’s pronounced Rah-MALL-ya – the “g” is silent. It’s Italian. My dad was born and raised in Naples, Italy. Being of Italian descent, it makes sense that I’m strongly connected to my family. I see my parents at least once a week and talk to them almost every day. And call me crazy, but I fantasize about having a big palazzo or farm house where my entire family can live together – each with our own separate wing, of course!

If you were curious enough to do a Google search, then you already know that I’m also an actress and a Pilates instructor. This might not seem relevant, but both acting and Pilates have given me the tools and the practice to free myself from all of my diet, exercise, and body drama.

Yes, I get it. I like to say that “I’ve been there, done that, have the t-shirt and wrote the book!” I truly understand how painful, frustrating and maddening all of the food and exercise, weight and body image stuff can be. I have been to hell and found my way back. My struggles have been life-threatening – quite literally. But somehow I not only managed to survive, I learned how to thrive. I learned how to have complete peace and freedom around food and exercise – how to eat what I want when I want, how to move my body in ways that feel good – AND I’ve never looked better. My work is about helping you create this too.

Finally, this page would not be complete without a special mention of “my Joshie.” Joshua Stewart is my best friend, husband, and partner in crime. He’s my biggest cheerleader and the true “father” of Happy Calories – it would not exist without him. In addition to all of the inspiration and emotional and production support he gives me, he’s an insanely talented individual in his own right. He’s a professional piano entertainer, studio musician and portrait artist. But most importantly, he is “Daddy” to our furry, four-legged children.

All in all I’m a pretty ordinary person. I – like many women – have dealt with weight and body issues that have negatively impacted the quality of my life. But I’ve been lucky enough to find a way out of it. And if you need help, I’m here for you.
